The family of slain President Samuel Doe has ruled out any possibility of reconciling with former General Prince Johnson.
The brother of the slain president told Star Radio the act by former General Johnson to burn the body of their brother shows he does not deserve forgiveness.
Mr. Jackson Doe said the family was highly saddened by the startling revelation that the slain President’s body was burnt.
He said if Former General Johnson, now senator, had shown regrets for his action, the Doe family would have pardoned him.
Mr. Doe said the burning of their brother’s body would deny him the opportunity of being honored by president Sirleaf as done to the late William Tolbert.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jackson Doe said he would appear before the TRC when call upon.
Mr. Doe said he would use the occasion to explain in details the capture and subsequent death of his brother.

Reflect , let go , and look forward to t Written by Kennedy Tobo, on 2008-08-29 03:12:45 I think it should be all about forgiveness. Let back gone be back gone. Listen family we must let this guy go with guilt God will judge him and he will always be conscious and live with that spirit. God will do the right thing. |
Let us forgive Written by Clarence K. Weesaye, on 2008-08-28 08:51:49 I understand the frustration of the Doe’s family, but I think the TRC process is intended to heal the wounds that the war inflicted on us Liberians no matter to what extend one was victimized; one has to say the true and I think Prince Johnson the formal General’s testimony was just being factual, so I want to take this time to call on the family of the formal President to ahead to the reasons while Liberians advocated for the reconciliation process so we can move ahead in building our country. |
