The Senate has confirmed twenty-nine AFL soldiers nominated for the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

The Senate also approved the nomination of Aaron Johnson as a Colonel in the new Armed Forces of Liberia.

The Acting President Pro Tempore of the Senate said the confirmation was performed Thursday after a recommendation from the Security Committee.

Acting Pro Temp Lahai Lassana also disclosed that the Legislature extended its sitting up to September 12 in the national interest.

Senator Lassana said the Legislature would use the extension to debate the passage of several draft Acts submitted to it by President Sirleaf.
