The Acting Senate Pro Temp has for the first time requested the presence of suspended Pro Temp Isaac Nyenabo in the chamber of the Senate.
Acting Pro Temp Lahai Lassanna made the request Tuesday after he noticed the continuous absence of Senator Nyenabo from the session of the Senate.
As part of his inquest, Acting Pro Temp Lassana requested one of the chamber staffers of the Senate to ask Senator Nyenabo to attend session.
Our Legislative reporter says it was not clear whether or not the message was delivered to Senator Nyenabo as he was not in session Tuesday.
Since the NDPL and Senator Nyenabo took the Senate to Court, the suspended Pro Temp has not been seen in session.
Our Legislative reporter says the move by Senator Nyenabo appears to be a tactical position against recognizing the leadership of Senator Lahai Lassana.
Meanwhile, there have been harsh exchanges between Acting Pro Temp Lassana and Sinoe County Senator Joseph Nagbe.
Senator Nagbe was barred from talking in the Senate Tuesday by Acting Pro Temp Lassana for failing to pay a fine of US$20 for disturbance.
Senator Nagbe described the fine as arbitrary and illegal and vowed not to pay the fine as Acting Pro Temp Lassana has no right to fine a Senator.
