Civil Service Agency needs US$54m for reform program Print E-mail

The Civil Service Agency says it requires about US$54m to implement the Civil Service Reform Strategy Document for 2008-2011.


The agency’s Director-General, Dr. C. William Allen said government and donors would fund the document.
 

Dr. Allen said the document will serve as a framework and road map towards the revitalization of the civil serve of the country.
 

He said the many years of conflict reduced the civil service to an ineffective and inefficient sector, incapable of delivering maximum service to the people.
 

Dr. Allen indicated that government is implementing what he called a comprehensive reform program to address performances weaknesses.
 

According to him, the reform document focuses on six key goals including pay and pension reform, restructuring and rightsizing, gender equity, modern human resources management.
 

Dr. Allen spoke Wednesday at program marking the official launch of the Liberia Civil Service Reform Strategy Document in Monrovia.
