Two cities in Italy have donated more than 20 high end BMW and Alpha Romeo vehicles and several motorbikes to the Liberian Government.

The Italian Police Service presented the donation to Vice President Boakai Joseph Boakai who is visiting the country.

A senior Italian Police officer, Dr. Allesandro Rossi spoke of the growing ties between Liberia and Italy and hoped close ties would be further strengthened.

He said the vehicles would be shipped to Liberia in the next few weeks.

The donation was the result of an appeal Vice President Boakai made to the Italian people to assist Liberia during his visit to the country early this year.

Receiving the vehicles and motorbikes, Vice President Boakai thanked the Italian people for seeing the need to come to Liberia’s rescue at this time.
