President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is expected to address a major press conference Monday.

According to Presidential Press Secretary, Cyrus Wleh-Badio, the President would mainly focus on key issues of national concerns.

Although Mr. Wleh-Badio did not elaborate, Star Radio gathered that President Sirleaf would address the controversial Population Threshold Act before the Legislature.

Credible sources also hinted Star Radio, the Chief Executive would also comment on the email corruption scandal, implicating the Presidency.

The alleged corruption communications were revealed by a United States-based online newspaper, Frontpage Africa.

The investigative report puts former Minister of State, Willis Knuckles in the center of the alleged illegal transactions, using the name of the President.

The government has been under pressure with some sectors of the society calling for an independent committee to investigate the scandal.

President Sirleaf has already named Dr. Edwood Dunn as head of an independent commission to probe the allegation.

Meanwhile, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has signed a proclamation, extending the 3rd  Regular Session of the 52nd Legislature.

According to the proclamation, the Regular Session of the 52nd legislature is now extended from the September 15 to 26, 2008.

According to the Act, the annual break of the National Legislature would commence not later than August 31 of each year, rather than the previously set July 31st adjournment.

The new adjournment Act was among several Legislations signed into law by President Sirleaf.

The other Legislations include an Act prohibiting the sale and use of tobacco products in public places.

The law also prohibits the sale and use of tobacco and tobacco products by persons under 18-years of age.

The Executive Mansion said an Act, ratifying the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban-Treaty was also signed by the Liberian leader.
