During a visit to Liberia early this year, U.S. President George Bush promised his country would assist Liberia with text books and chairs for students.

Dr. Korto said the ministry has been holding discussions with USAID authorities in Monrovia on the issue.

He indicated that the books would be concentrated on subjects include science, mathematics and language arts as well as reference materials.

According to him, the ministry has allotted six million United States dollars of the pool fund for the printing of books and other materials for the primary level.
