Government wants only secondary textbooks |

Education Minister, Dr. Joseph Korto says the ministry has requested the United States government to limit the textbooks promised Liberia to secondary level.
During a visit to Liberia early this year, U.S. President George Bush promised his country would assist Liberia with text books and chairs for students.
Dr. Korto said the ministry has been holding discussions with USAID authorities in Monrovia on the issue.
He indicated that the books would be concentrated on subjects include science, mathematics and language arts as well as reference materials.
According to him, the ministry has allotted six million United States dollars of the pool fund for the printing of books and other materials for the primary level.
The Education Minister said the books for the primary level will reflect the culture of the country.
