51 tested HIV positive in Maryland |

Fifty-one persons have been tested positive of HIV in Maryland County, southeastern Liberia.
They were amongst two hundred thirteen tested in the county for the disease.
The Counselor of the Merlin supported voluntary confidential, counseling and testing center said the tests were conducted between January and August this year.
Mrs. Shalotte Nagbe-Kofa disclosed that those diagnosed are mostly female and are currently on the ARV treatment.
Mrs. Nagbe-Kofa stated at least four persons including inpatients are tested daily.
Mrs. Nagbe-Kofa said some of the people cried bitterly when they were diagnosed of the virus.
Meanwhile, a 2-day HIV awareness workshop ended today in Harper.
The facilitator, Madam Cora Doryan told Star radio the event was intended to sensitized and encourage the population on visiting the VCT center to know their status.
Madam Doryan said the workshop came about when recent survey proved that majority of the citizens were not accessing the VCT center.
