The Justice Ministry has strongly warned deactivated personnel of the dissolved Armed Forces of Liberia against holding a planned demonstration today.

According to the ministry and the Joint Security Commission, no permission was sought for the demonstration.

A statement issued Sunday evening described the demonstration as illegal and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The statement said the Liberia National Police and other security agencies have been placed on high alert to robustly deal with any illegal situation to maintain law and order.

The Justice Ministry and the Joint Security Commission also said the police and its partners would arrest anyone who will involve with what they call the planned illegal demonstration for prosecution.

The statement urged the deactivated soldiers to follow the procedures on holding demonstrations or face the full weight of the law.

Although reasons for the alleged demonstration are still unknown, deactivated soldiers have been demanding more benefits from Government.

Meanwhile, the Justice Minister said the withdrawals of the JPC and PUL from the commission set up to investigate the email scandal are not setbacks to the process.

Minister Banks told Star Radio the investigation would go on without the two institutions.

He said it was unfortunate for the institutions to be selective and believes they are letting the Liberian people down.

The JPC declined its inclusion on grounds that it did not have the technical capacity while the PUL pullout to maintain its neutrality.

The Minister said other people are being contacted to join the investigation but did give names.

Cllr. Banks told Star Radio the decision to bring in experts would be left with the investigative Commission.

The Justice Minister however, said the email service provider Yahoo Books would be contacted to help authenticate the emails exchanges.
