Chambers Justice Jamesetta Wolokollie has mandated the Senate to re-instate its suspended President Pro Tempore, Isaac Nyenabo.

In a mandate issued Tuesday, the Chambers Justice instructed the senate to restore Nyenabo to his post with immediate effect.

According to the document, Justice Wolokollie has further instructed the Lahai Lassana leadership of the senate to appear before the full bench of the Supreme Court.

The Lahai Lassana leadership is to appear before the Supreme Court on October 4 to show cause why Nyenabo’s petition should not be granted.

Meanwhile, moves are underway at the Senate to declare the post of President Pro Tempore vacant as the Legislative body adjourns this Thursday.

Credible sources told Star Radio the vacancy announcement would be made public during the formal closing exercise of the Upper House.

Two senators confided in Star radio that the move is to ensure that a new Senate President is elected next year.

According to the Senators, election for the post of President Pro Temp would take place February 15, 2009.

The Senators said they are resolved to elect a new President Pro Tempore after the suspension of Senator Isaac Nyenabo, as Pro Temp.

Bomi County Senator Lahai Lassana is currently serving as Acting President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

Still at the Senate, the Upper House has rejected a bill seeking to compel government pay teams to extend to district headquarters across Liberia.

The bill was submitted for passage by Maryland County Senator John Ballout.

In its rejection the Senate said the bill by Senator Ballout is a policy issue being enforced by government.

The Chief of Office Staff of Senator Ballout told Star radio, his boss views the rejection of the bill as regrettable.

Mr. Wha Nne said it appears that the intent of the of the bill has not been understood.

According to him Senator Ballout submitted the bill to rescue government employees in rural areas who find it extremely hard to get their salaries.

Mr. Nne said he was instructed by Senator Ballout who is currently in the United States to express the disappointment of the Senator.
