Assessments show sexual exploitation |

Mobilization assessments at three institutions of higher learning show a high rate of sexual exploitation and issues of gender biases.
The assessments carried out by the Liberia National Students Union noticed the exchange of sex and money for grades, and discrimination among males and females.
LINSU’s Gender Desk Project Officer told Star Radio, the assessment also established that most of the exploitations are not reported as a result of fear.
The mobilization assessments at the University of Liberia, Cuttington University and BWI were carried out to form Gender Clubs.
Miss Euphemia Swen told Star Radio, the G-Clubs would engage in awareness campaigns on the various gender issues at universities.
She said members of the clubs, which will be installed on Saturday, will encourage students to speak out against the issues without fear.
Miss Swen said the Gender Clubs are to ensure male and female partnership in addressing gender issues and not just a female club.
The formation of the G-Clubs is part of a five-year project of LINSU funded by UNFPA.
