Police in Bong County have charged a 20-year old man with statutory rape.

Police investigation revealed the suspect joined four others on September 6 to allegedly rape a 14-year old girl in Kerkulah Town, Salala District.

According to the investigation, the victim and the accused went to Kerkulah Town to attend a graduation party when the crime was committed.

Meanwhile, our correspondent said Police in the county have launched a search for the four other suspects who managed to escape and are still on the run.

Still in Bong County, the Zota District Development Association has called on government to make public the autopsy conducted on the body of Augustine Gorlotor.

The spokesman of the association said unless government releases the result of the autopsy, it would be difficult to believe that Augustine died a natural death.

Mr. Daniel Newland argued there was foul play in the death of the 11th grade student, considering the circumstances surrounding his death.

The dead body of Augustine was found hanging in a stationary shop belonging to his guardians in the provincial city of Gbarnga.

Mr. Newland encouraged the family to remain resolute as all is being done to pursue the case at the highest level.
