The Ministry of National Defence has dismissed 16 of the newly trained officers of the Armed Forces of Liberia.

Acting Information Minister Cletus Sieh told Star Radio, the officers were dismissed in line with Wednesday’s confusion at the Edward Beyan Kessely Military Barracks.

The soldiers protested the abrupt change of apartment rooms to accommodate their colleagues from Camp Sandi Ware.

Minister Sieh said the act of indiscipline exhibited by the soldiers warranted the dismissal.

According to the deputy minister, the soldiers were summarily investigated in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the UCMJ.

The protesting soldiers in their resistance to the Defense Ministry order to swap rooms allegedly fought a Nigerian Sergeant Major identified as Keeba.

A spokesman of the disenchanted soldiers hinted Star Radio they were not going to bow down to pressure.

The spokesman who begged not to be named said the new apartments they were being offered were unfit for them.
