The Liberia National Police says it has confirmed rape allegation against one of its officers in Rivercess County.

A 15-year-old girl alleged officer Michael Ballah cuffed her before raping her in Cestos City.

The girl told Star Radio the incident happened on July 24 this year.

Police spokesman Joseph Kollie told Star Radio the investigations conducted by the LNP’s Professional Standards Division found the allegation to be true.

Commissioner Kollie said officer Ballah who was brought to Monrovia for preliminary probe would be sent to Rivercess County for prosecution.

He said the necessary administrative actions have been taken against the officer to prepare him for court trial.
