Criminal Court ‘B’ Judge Karboi Nuta has accused journalists of miss-reporting his ruling granting the motion to admit Roland Kaine to bail.

Judge Nuta said journalists misinformed the public about his ruling which attracted a barrage of criticisms.

He described the act as an attempt to bring the court into public disrepute.

Judge Nuta in open court Thursday said the court has ways to correct such erroneous publication but did not say whether the ways would be used in the instant case.

The Judge in a ruling Tuesday granted a motion to admit detained Senator Roland Kaine to bail before assigning the hearing of the motion for Thursday.

State lawyers condemned the ruling, saying it questions the ability of the judge to further preside over the case.

The state has meanwhile filed a prohibition petition to stop Judge Nuta from further proceeding with the case.

Cllr. Augustine Toe of the JPC described the ruling as a sad day for the rule of law in Liberia.
