A fierce leadership battle has ensued over the post of President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

It follows announcement by Senator Isaac Nyenabo that he is now the President Pro Temp of the Senate.

Senator Nyenabo made the statement after twelve senators said they will abide by the ruling of Chambers Justice Jamesetta Wolokollie to have Nyenabo reinstated.

After the statement by the twelve senators led by Cletus Wortorson, Senator Nyenabo told reporters he is automatically the Pro Temp of the Senate.

Minutes after the announcement by Senator Nyenabo, Senator Lahai Lassana told reporters he remains Acting President Pro Temp of the Senate.

Senator Lassana said as far he is concerned consultations are still ongoing to discuss the reinstatement of Nyenabo as ruled by Justice Wolokollie.

Our Legislative reporter says it is now clear that both Senators Nyenabo and Lassana are occupying the lone post of President ProTtemp of the Senate.

According to our reporter the situation is dangerous as the Senate would be divided between Senators Nyenabo and Lassana.
