The National Port Authority says it has instituted new container measures to reduce the over crowdedness at the port.

The Managing Director of the NPA said only legitimate truckers and brokers would be allowed entrance to the port.

Mr. George Tubman said the port has sustained massive losses in the nature of efficiency because brokers and truckers have been using the port as a hustle ground.

Mr. Tubman said the measure is intended to speed up the delivery of consignments and cut down the concept of using the port as garage and parking lot.

According to him, several shipping lines were interested in the fast turn around concept and the NPA is concerned about creating avenues to accommodate more ships.
