2008 was eventful for China, says Amb. Zhou Print E-mail

Chinese Ambassador Zhou Yuxiao has described 2008 as an eventful year for China.
 

Ambassador Zhou recounted the dreadful storms and earth quake that destroyed lives and properties.
 

Despite the natural disasters, the ambassador was excited that China also launched its man space ship and hosted the Olympics and Para Olympics.
 

The Chinese ambassador spoke during an official program observing the 59th independence anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in Monrovia.
 

He said China has achieved remarkable marks over the last 59 years including developing a robust economy, and reducing poverty.
 

The Chinese Ambassador however said there are still a lot of challenges, but is confident that they can be tackled by development and reforms.
 

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf praised the Chinese for their resilience to succeed and thanked China for supporting Liberia’s development program.
 

The President reiterated government’s support to the one China Policy describing it as the best option for China’s reunification.
