President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has challenged officers of the Special Security Service to be law abiding in the enforcement of their duty.

The President cautioned that no one is above the law and would be prosecuted in case of violation.

Madam Sirleaf however, noted the progress in the professional operations of the SSS and challenged them to continue.

The President spoke during the first graduation exercise of the SSS/VIP Protection Course.

Meanwhile the US Security Service has honored the Acting Deputy SSS Director Frank Nyekan for professional services.

He was certificated in recognition of his superior professionalism exhibited during the visit of President George Bush.

At the sametime, the US has budgeted 56 million US dollar for fiscal year 2009 which begins today to support security Agencies in Liberia.

Speaking earlier at the program, the Director of the Special Security Service says officers should be prepared to sacrifice their lives to protect the VIP or leave the force.

Director Victor Helb said the major aim of the SSS is to ensure that the President and those she designates are fully protected at all time.

Over one hundred officers graduated following three weeks of intense training carryout by a security team from the US Anti Terrorist Assistant.

Fourteen officers also graduated as Firearms instructors following a four week fire arm course.

Some of the graduates also underwent training in China, Nigeria and other Countries.

The training according to Director Helb is to establish a professionally trained security service as it was during the 60s and 70s.
