More dismissal at Commerce |

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has dismissed the Assistant Commerce Minister for Trade.
President Sirleaf dismissed Mrs. Adorkor Coleman for her role in the release of a container from the Freeport of Monrovia.
Acting Commerce Minister Dr. Frederick Norkeh told a news conference the President’s action followed findings from an investigation conducted into the container saga.
An employee the ministry was dismissed early this week for forging the signature of the Assistant Minister.
According to Minister Norkeh, althoug her signature was forged the dismissed Assistant Minister still allowed the container to leave the Freeport.
The Acting Commerce Minister disclosed that two other employees of the Ministry have also been dismissed in contention with the forgery case.
He named the two employees as Ramphel Harris and Harry Ragland.
Meanwhile, President Sirleaf also dismissed the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Liberia Electricity Corporation.
Information Minister Lawrence Bropleh told a news conference the non-statutory members were dismissed for mismanagement of revenue of the entity.
Dr. Bropleh also announced the suspension of the Deputy Managing Director of the LEC Joseph Giddings in connection with the act.
Dr. Bropleh said the revenues allegedly mismanaged by the LEC officials were placed in an escrow account for the purchase of fuel for power supply.
The Information Ministry boss however said although he does not know the extent of the mismanagement but said the entity was rescued urgently.
Dr. Bropleh told Star Radio funds are being solicited for the renovation of the Mount Coffee Hydro Plant.
The minister also said President Sirleaf has mandated the Justice Ministry to make MAK Incorporated restitute a one hundred forty-seven thousand dollars given to it by Bong County.
MAK Incorporated was given the money for the rehabilitation of the Kakata-Bong Mines Highway but the project has since come to a stand still.
