Government has promised to pay a group of arts and craftsmen who stormed the National Museum Monday in demand of their artifacts.

The craftsmen are claiming thirty-two thousand US dollars from government as the total value of artifacts they took to the Museum since 2006.

Assistant Information Minister for Culture Isaac Jackson told Star Radio government would pay the money within two weeks.

Mr. Jackson said information Minister Laurence Bropleh has already informed President Sirleaf about the issue and that actions would be taken.

According to Mr. Jackson, government takes no pleasure in owing any of its citizen for whom it has designed the poverty reduction strategy.

Mr. Jackson blamed the delay on other pressing national engagements Minister Bropleh has been undertaking.

The Assistant information Minister for culture however called on the craftsmen not to resort to violent approach as a means of seeking redress.
