The first batch of American peace-corps is expected to arrive in Liberia next week.

The American peace-corps worked in the country since the 1960s but left due to the 14-year civil war and the insecurity associated with it.

The government of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has been holding discussions with Washington for the return of the peace-corps.

The first batch of returning peace-corps would assist in the strengthening of Liberia’s education and health sectors.

Star Radio gathered the first batch of American peace-corps would be accompanied to Liberia by Mr. Ronald Tschetter, Director of the United States Peace Corps.
