Black Star wins knockout title

Black Star FC has won the Liberia Football Association knockout competition.

Black Star whipped Mighty Barrolle in post match penalty on Friday afternoon at the Unification Town Sports Pitch.

The league champions won the penalty kicks 4-1 after the rescheduled extra thirty minutes of play failed to produce a winner.

Black Star and Barrolle met last Sunday and the 90 minutes of play ended 1-1 but the sides could not go into extra thirty minutes due to poor visibility.

The victory over Mighty Barrolle now makes Black Star to clinch the triple championship in Liberian football.

Black Star has now capped a remarkable season winning three major trophies this year.

The club won the Presidents Cup early this year and has now added to other trophies to its cabinet.
