Citizens of Grand Gedeh County have called on their Representatives and Senators to open offices in their various constituencies.
The citizens told their lawmakers the opening of the legislative offices would help improve relations between them and the people.
At a Town Hall Meeting in Zwedru, the citizens also want the lawmakers to hold regular meetings in their constituencies and monitor projects being under taken there.
The Town Hall Meeting participants also advanced the election of counties superintendents by their people.
They noted that the election of counties superintendents would give them constitutional power and make them accountable to the people.
Our correspondent said the Town Hall Meeting was organized by the Resource Empowerment for Integrated Development and sponsored by the National Democratic Institute.
Speaking at the meeting, Senator William Sandy described the citizens’ call as timely and relevant.
Senator Sandy promised to open his office shortly in the county.
