Liberian Journalist to receive British Award Print E-mail

Liberian Journalist Jonathan Paye-Layleh has arrived in London to receive the Parliamentary Press Gallery Award for the protection of democracy in Liberia.




Mr. Paye-Layleh, a BBC correspondent, is being awarded for protecting democracy through his reportage.
 

Accompanied by his wife, Mr. Paye-Layleh toured the British Parliament Monday and was expected to meet Parliament Speaker Michael Martin.
 

Shortly after the meeting, Speaker Martin will present Mr. Paye-Layleh with the Parliamentary Award at his official residence.



On Tuesday, the Liberian couple will meet with the All Party Parliamentary Human Rights Group, which includes Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
