Two foreign nationals have been arrested and deported in Dainplay, Zoegeh District, Nimba County.
The Guinean and Burkinabee were deported through the Butuo border with Ivory Coast.
According to our correspondent, Lansana Ashine and Aleu Abu were arrested for illegally hunting protected gray parrots.
Our correspondent said the two were caught with five of the birds including two trained ones used by them to attract the other wild parrots into their nets.
An FDA warden responsible for Sector-3 covering Nimba, Bong and Grand Bassa Counties told Star Radio the two trained parrots are referred to as tramp cards.
Mr. Steve Miapeh said before the arrest of the two men, they have illegally exported more than twenty of the fowls into Ivory Coast.
Lansana and Abu told security investigation prior to their deportation that they obtained the two tramp cards from the Congo.
Mr. Miapeh puts the street value of each of the birds at four hundred United States dollars.
