The Head of UNMIL, Ellen Loj has acknowledged that the Liberia National Police is still faced with numerous challenges.

Madam Loj said the mission was prepared to join the LNP in facing these challenges which include logistics, infrastructure among others.

According to Madam Loj, there is nothing the UN wants more than success for the LNP in its operations.

The UNMIL boss spoke Saturday night when she toured several police stations and depots in Monrovia and its environs.

Madam Loj said the tour gave her a first hand impression of the challenges faced by LNP personnel especially during their night operations.

Our reporter who covered the night tour along with the UNMIL boss said there were frank exchanges between her and LNP depot commanders.

Our reporter observed that some of the depots operated under candle light.

Police inspector General Munah Sieh-Browne said the generators used by the depots had broken down.
